Escapes Landscape and Design was founded in 2008. Owner and President, Nick Reiter, graduated from Iowa State University with his B.S. in Horticulture with an emphasis on Landscape Installation and Design in May 2008. After a year designing and installing for a company in Ames, he decided to venture out. He moved back to the Waterloo area, where he was raised, and has been growing the business since. Escapes became incorporated in 2014. We primarily serve Eastern Iowa, although we do travel throughout the state and beyond.
We have had many outstanding employees along the way. Every one of them has been vital to the success of our business. Many stories and memories have come from our time with those individuals. We want to thank them all for their hard work and all that they contributed to growing Escapes into the company that it is today.

Our development
Past
Escapes has completed over 1000 landscape projects. These projects include large residential and commercial work. The nursery opened in 2015 and has been growing to meet demand.
Present
We continue to expand our knowledge through continuing education and training. We are continually trying to improve our business by investing in our employees and our nursery. Implementing new practices has allowed us to become one of the Cedar Valley's best landscape companies.
Future
Escapes plans to expand our materials yard and parking at the nursery. Plans for a building with a store front and offices are also on the horizon.
